Questioning the Great Bear Rainforest Agreement

Among other issues that Weyerhaeuser uses to green its image is the proposed agreement over the Great Bear Rainforest. The agreement has raised healthy doses of praise and scorn from various sectors of the environmental world. An insightfull take from Faisal Moola at the Raincoast Conservation Society concludes:

I firmly believe that we need to build the EBM “safety net” to bolster the unfulfilled conservation gains that may soon be announced by government for the Great Bear Rainforest. However, until this happens we must continue the fight for comprehensive and scientifically-based protection in this globally unique region.
