Public lands closed to the public

Recent nonviolent civil disobedience actions out in Southern Oregon have prompted the Forest Service to close 700 acres of the National Forest to the public in order to "to protect the health and safety of people near the area" I wonder what would have happened in if the bus system were shut down after Rosa Parks didn't give up her seat?

Joan Norman, a 72 year old local arrested at the scene describes the helplessness felt by those most directly impacted by the logging: "I don't know what else to do to stop this destruction to our forests, so I'm going to sit down in front of the trucks again."
